The International Society for the Systems Sciences (ISSS) is dedicated to research and practice using systems science. Systems science is the science of relationships and perspectives across multiple other scientific fields including biology, sociology, management science, psychology, family therapy, etc.
The annual meetings of the ISSS have been some of the most interesting times in my life. What a great group of people! I've gotten to know a large number of the ISSS members having attended the past four conferences now. Usually, between 150-250 people attend the conference, and it is held in various places around the world. The conferences I've attended have been in Washington D.C., Berlin, Boulder (Colorado) and Vienna.
The presentations are equally split between research presentations and practitioners explaining how they use systems thinking in their work.
If you are interesting in systems thinking, I urge you to visit the ISSS website and to come to the next conference.
